The Basics

First you decide how many credits you want to play and how many hands you want to activate. The system automatically deals out the cards face down, for the hands you have activated. When you click on the Deal button, your first hand is displayed.

You now decide which of the cards you want to hold and/or which cards you want to discard: Ace Live Casino's system features an in-built Autohold feature which will advise as to which cards it thinks you should hold, its strategy being based on the best play practices for the corresponding version of video poker being played.

When you hold a card/s the cards in that same position in the remaining hands will take exactly the same value of the card/s you are holding and will all be displayed. Once you have selected the card/s you want to hold click on Draw, and the remaining cards are replaced.

You will win on all those hands forming winning poker hands as detailed further down. Your goal is to complete the game with the highest hands. The payout depends on the value of the hand/s you are holding. When you win on any of the hands, you can opt to increase your winnings by playing either the Double Bonus or the Hi-Lo Bonus.

How to Play

  • Each hand is played with a standard 52-card deck with one joker in each deck with each hand using a completely separate deck, so that, if you hold the five of diamonds in one hand, you could also be dealt a five of diamonds in another one or more of the other hands you're playing. Needless to say, since each deck is separate, you cannot be dealt the five of diamonds twice in the same hand.
  • The first hand is the only hand you can choose to hold cards from. When you have decided which card/s to hold and then clicked on Draw, all the cards of the other twenty five hands that are displaying the same card/s you have held from your first hand will be replaced at the same time.
  • The resulting hands made up by the cards you have held plus the cards that you have had replaced are valued in accordance with this variant of the following poker hand standards:
Winning Hands
Royal Flush Ace - King - Queen - Jack - 10 of the same suit
Straight Flush Five cards in sequence of the same suit
Four of a Kind Any four cards of the same value
Full House Three of a kind and a pair
Flush Any five cards from the same suit
Straight Five cards in sequence, not of the same suit
Three of a Kind Three cards of the same value and two unmatched cards
Two Pair Two cards with the same value with another two cards of the same value
Jacks or Better One pair of Jacks, or Queens, Kings or Aces

Playing the Game

  • Select your credit amount.
Select the amount you want your credits to be worth by clicking on the right and left arrows.

  • Place a bet of between 1 to 5 credits.

Set the amount you want to bet by clicking the Bet One or the Bet Max button. Every time you click on the Bet One button, the credit value amount selected will be increased by one. If you click up to 5 credits and change your mind, you can press the Bet One button again and the number of credits bet will immediately be reset to 1. Bet Max places a bet of 5-credit on the hand and deals the cards. The total amount you will be betting is shown on the Bet display.

When you click on Deal, a bet of 1 credit bet is made by default. On all the subsequent rounds, the amount you placed on your previous bet will be the amount played as the default bet. You can always change your total bet amount at the beginning of each new hand.

The number of credits you bet will affect the pay table which can be seen in credits above the cards. The amounts made from your wins are displayed in credits and these increase when you play more credits per hand. The value of the payouts will obviously depend on the credit amount you initially selected.

Now use the Hands button to activate the number of hands you want to play.

  • Click on Deal.
When you click on Deal the cards of the first hand will be turned over.

  • Select which cards you want to hold.
Although the system will automatically hold cards as a "best proposal," you can always change the cards you are holding and make your own decisions. Autohold itself is based on a strategy of optimum play for whatever version of video poker that is being played. You also have the option of holding all five cards and then clicking on Draw to keep all five original cards dealt.

  • Click on Draw again.
All discarded cards will be replaced with new cards. You win on any of your hands holding a winning combination.

  • Hi-Lo, Double and Collect
On winning a hand you have the option of either collecting your winnings or trying to multiply them by playing one of our remarkable bonus games - Hi-Lo or Double. Additionally, both bonus games give you the option of taking a side bet which pays more if you guess the correct result more than one time.

  • Hi-Lo
If you click on the Hi-Lo button after winning during normal play, the bonus game of Hi-Lo will open up.
This game is distributed into 4 different levels. Hi-Lo offers you the opportunity of increasing your winnings both after each card and after each level.
    • The Hi-Lo Game
Each level corresponds to one of the four suits. The first card of the Spades level will be displayed. Now you must choose whether the next card will be higher or lower than the card displayed. The odds given for winning either of these bets are based on the likelihood of your drawing a higher or lower card than the card displayed since, for instance, if the card displayed is the 10 of Spades, the likelihood of the next card drawn being lower is relatively high, therefore, the payout is comparatively low. The probability of the next card being a higher card is substantially low and, as such, the payout is considerably higher.

In Hi-Lo, the 2 is the lowest card and the Ace the highest. If either one of these two cards appear, you will only be able to select the corresponding choice of High for the 2 or Low for an ace. In those cases you don't win for the individual card but you can look at it as a free way of playing the extra bonus bet which gets you closer to finishing that level.
After every accurate choice you make, you are given the option of either collecting your current win or going on to guess the result of the next card. If the result is that your choice was incorrect, you will lose any of the winnings you have made from the Hi-Lo game up to that point, as well as the original winnings you made on the hand/s during normal play.

    • Extra Bonus
Before you start your game of Hi-Lo, you can decide if you want to activate the Extra Bonus by placing the value of 1 credit.
The Extra Bonus pays for each level that you complete, according to the pay-table. This payout is in addition to the wins accrued from guessing high or low correctly for each card.

    • How the Extra Bonus is Activated
Before you click on Start to begin the Hi-Lo game, just click the "Hi-Lo Extra Bonus" button shown underneath. You can always de-activate the extra bonus before you start the game should you activate it by mistake. To play the Extra Bonus costs the value of 1 credit, depending on the value you originally selected during normal play.

    • Double
If you click on the Double button after winning during normal play, you will open the Double bonus game.
In the Double bonus game, 5 cards are picked from a full deck at random. The first card is displayed and you have to choose one of the four remaining cards, with the object of picking a card that is higher than the one that was displayed first.

The Double Game

  • The game begins with 5 cards displayed - face down. When you click on the Start button, the first card will be displayed, face up.
  • You will then choose another card from one of the four remaining cards, with a view to choosing a card that is higher than the one that was initially displayed. Your previous winnings will be doubled if your choice is successful. If it is not, you will lose any winnings you have made up to that point in the Double game as well as the original winnings you have made on the hand/s during normal play.
  • You can continue to play to double your winnings up to a maximum of 10 times.

Double Fever Bonus

  • Before starting to play the Double bonus game, you can decide if you also want to play the Double Fever Bonus. This bonus costs the value of 1 credit and pays for 2 or more consecutive correct guesses.
  • If your guess is correct 2 or more times in a row, you will be paid out according to the pay table. If you continue to play and your guess is incorrect, you will lose all the Double Fever Bonus payout that you have accrued.
